To facilitate further expansion, we are now recruiting for a Business Unit Manager Civil Engineering (CE) located at our Murfreesboro, TN office with the following credentials without exception:
Professional Engineer with at least 10 years of broad civil engineering experience; and
High-level leadership experience with the state Department of Transportation; or
High-level leadership experience with the Federal Highway Administration; or
High-level leadership experience with the Army Corps of Engineers; or
High-level leadership experience with a National/ENR500 firm.
SUMMARY:
The Business Unit Manager CE will be responsible for the overall success of the engineering department by developing, promoting and overseeing delivery of Wiser Companys full line of engineering services at the local, state, and federal government level.

| Duties: |
Develop and promote our engineering services:
Develop and implement a strategic plan for acquiring new business at the local, state, and federal level;
Leverage current business relationships and cultivate new contacts through targeted networking;
Identify and aggressively pursue potential projects in the assigned territory;
Identify, investigate, and recommend emerging engineering markets that may be pursued;
Properly price potential contracts to achieve acceptable profit margin;
Build long-tem relationships for future growth;
Prepare and conduct formal presentations of Wiser Companys full range of engineering services.
Oversee delivery of engineering services:
Develop and maintain client confidence in our staff and operations by maintaining a high level of professionalism, transparency, accountability, and performance;
Maintain excellent written and verbal communications with customers;
Establish and maximize overall customer satisfaction.
Lead and manage staff:
Participate in the team-building and cohesiveness process;
Effectively lead, organize, assign, motivate, and evaluate employees;
Maintain excellent written and verbal communications and rapport with survey staff;
Anticipate and resolve staffing needs and personnel issues.

Education/Experience:
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering required, Masters degree preferred;
Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE);
At least 10 years of broad Civil Engineering experience;
Business development experience preferred;
Profit and Loss experience preferred.
