To facilitate further expansion, we are now recruiting for a Resident Engineer, PE for our Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) departments located at our Murfreesboro, TN and Birmingham, AL offices.

Duties:

• Managers the construction activities involved in the completion of assigned transportation, water and wastewater, and site development projects including, but not limited to the following:
o Assigning inspection, observation and documentation duties;
o Providing technical advice and assistance to project personnel;
o Coordinating the collaborative efforts of the owner, contractor, design engineer and survey departments;
• Assists the Project Manager in bringing the project to a successful completion;
• Ensures the fulfillment of the construction contract, by the contractor;
• Prepares proposals for project management services;
• Coordinates the programming, planning, budgeting, and design and construction operations of the contractor with the Critical Path Method (CPM) schedule;
• Provides periodic reporting and progress meetings with superior(s) and customer(s);
• Advises engineer and contractor on any portion of the work;
• Participates in a final inspection in the company of engineer, owner and contractor;
• Develops and maintain client confidence in our staff and operations by maintaining a high level of professionalism, transparency, accountability, and performance;
• Establishes and maximizes overall customer satisfaction and team performance.

• Ability to develop, prepare, and present proposals to individuals and groups;
• Ability to promote company services;
• Ability to plan, prepare, schedule and accurately anticipate needs;
• Ability to establish and maintain excellent client rapport;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
• Excellent written and oral communication skills;
• Ability to work flexible schedule and travel as necessary;
• Good organizational skills with ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously;
• Strong problem solving, decision making abilities;
• Ability to solve problems and make sound engineering judgments, based on experience and proper application of good engineering practices;
• Proficient in the use of AutoCad and/or Microstation;
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft office products (WORD, EXCEL and POWERPOINT).

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or related field;
• Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) in TN or AL;
• At least 5 years of Civil Engineering, CEI, or Construction Management experience to include;
o Experience in construction engineering and project and staff supervision;
o Experience in technical management of construction projects including transportation, buildings, water/wastewater, greenways.
