In an effort to meet the growing needs of our client base, we have recently diversified into the “vertical” building market segment and now offer architectural services. In the very near future we will be expanding into additional engineering services (such as mechanical, electrical, structural, etc.) as well as furthering our offering of construction management services for various building project types. We are now recruiting for a Director of Sustainability of this expanding AEC business to be located in our Murfreesboro, TN offices.
SUMMARY:
The Director of Sustainability will be responsible for all aspects of related sustainable consulting services offered to clients as well as acting in a leadership management and support role of the AEC company’s green building project work, across multiple offices and an expanding geographic area.

| Duties: |
The successful candidate will contribute to the continual, strategic development and refinement of the following job responsibilities, currently including but not limited to those listed below:
Sustainability Services - Business Development, Client Management, Office and Project Management:
- Business Development - leverage existing experience and contacts to get sustainable consulting work from both public (primarily federal and state) and private (primarily healthcare and higher education) sectors, based on both social and environmental responsibility and/or potentially improving building and business operations performance.
- Industry Leadership – develop and position self and company as a leader in the sustainable marketplace. Efforts to include:
- Conference speaking;
- various print and electronic media and communication formats.
- Client Management – offer client education, maintain oversight and relationship with clients for a high level of client satisfaction and to present the opportunity for on-going or future services, whether consulting and/or design/construction related offerings.
- Office and Project Management – provide direct leadership and management of any consulting related staff and processes and in-direct leadership and management services of any AEC professional staff and processes on sustainable related green building project work. Service offerings expected to include:
- Establishing and maintain policies and operations practices;
- Consulting services (for sustainable consulting personnel);
- In-house services (for AEC personnel);
- 3rd Party consulting and/or certification (LEED, etc.) of green building projects;
- Building systems commissioning, etc.(using AEC personnel in-house or otherwise);
- Green Training/education of both client employees and our own in-house staff;
- Optional consulting services may include:
- Establish client corporate standards to be used in the design; construction and ongoing facilities operation and management to meet sustainability goals including practices and utilization of integrated project delivery, and BIM.

Education/Experience:
- Industry Professional with at least 15 years of broad AEC related experience and 5+ years of specific sustainable design related experience preferred;
- LEED AP.
