Description:The Intelligence Analyst provides the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) or United States Force-Afghanistan (USFOR-A) with intelligence operations support. This role supports ISAF/USFOR-A by aiding in the coordination, planning and execution of intelligence collection operations, exploitation and analytic support in coordination with other entities and agencies in the Combined Joint Operating Area – Afghanistan (CJOA-A).

Duties:•Functions as a part of a general military intelligence analytical team at Brigade Combat Team, Regional Command or ISAF Joint Command or equivalent in support of S-2/G-2/J-2 analytical requirements.
•Responsible for analysis, reporting, data-basing and dissemination of Human Terrain Analysis, preparation of provincial and district assessments, High Value Individual Targeting products, Extremist and Regional Threat Nodal Analysis, Intelligence Preparation of the Battlefield products, and 24/7 Indications and Warning Analysis focused on Counter-Improvised Explosive Devices, Insurgent Intimidation Tactics and all-source exploitation of captured materials and documents.
•A minimum of one year of use of Analyst Notebook (ANB) or of Distributed Common Ground System – Army (DCGS-A) is required, but may be waived if candidate has equivalent automated data processing (ADP) research skills. Functions as a part of an intelligence analytical team of military and/or DoD civilian analysts in support of CJ2 analytical requirements.
•Responsible for analysis, reporting, data basing and dissemination of Afghanistan measures of stability which include security, governance and development, Human Terrain Analysis, preparation of provincial and district assessments and Campaign and Mission Analysis briefings and annexes, High Value Individual Targeting products, Extremist and Regional Threat Network Nodal Analysis, Preparation of Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance Assessment Metrics which include daily imagery intelligence (IMINT), Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) and Human Intelligence (HUMINT) products to gauge the effectiveness of collection operations, 24/7 Indications & Warning withstanding and all-source exploitation of documents and media from detainees.
•Responsible for researching, developing, presenting and publishing all-source intelligence products at the tactical, operational and strategic level related to Military actions, insurgent activities, economic and political activities, and threats to regional stability as part of an overall analytical team.
•This position provides input to multiple Government requirements and objectives, assist with the analysis and production of various intelligence products, and supply analytical support for senior Military leaders. The Intelligence Analyst shall attend meetings and conduct comprehensive research on complex topics independently or as a part of a larger analytical effort focusing on current events and long-term trends that could impact the Government’s mission.
•Responsible for intelligence analysis related to counter-terrorism, HUMINT, SIGINT, counterintelligence, Afghanistan and South West Asia regional issues, political/military analysis and support to targeting.
•These positions are for mid-level analysts.
Qualifications:•Active TS/SCI or active within last 2 years required.
•U.S. citizenship required.
•This position requires a minimum of 4 years analytical experience within DoD or equivalent Government agencies required, with operational level experience preferred.
•Experience in either CT, Afghanistan, South West Asia regional issues and HUMINT or political/military analysis desired.
•Must pass DoD CRC requirements for deployment to Department of State (DoS) declared Contingency or Combat Zones.
•This position requires former MOS 1N, 35F, 350F, 18F, 35D, 34A or equivalent.
•This position requires an Associate’s Degree, and a Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
•Proficient in utilizing basic computer applications and intelligence related automation to support analytical efforts and product development.
•Requires the submission of an unclassified analytical writing sample on Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, Al Qaida, the Taliban, the Haqqani network or the HIG (250 words minimum) with their resume.
•Proficient in utilizing basic computer applications and intelligence related automation to support analytical efforts and product development.
•Possess strong research and writing skills and be capable of effectively operating as a member of a strategic level analytical team in the accomplishment of intelligence products and assessments.
•Must adhere to standards of conduct as established by the operational or unit commander to include General Order #1
•Deployed experience is preferred.
•Must possess a working knowledge of the Afghan culture.
•Knowledge of the Dari or Pashto language a plus.
•Excellent written and verbal communications skills required.
•Good analytical and problem solving skills.
•Ability to multi-task.
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

This job requires the following physical activities: Climbing (stairs), stooping, crouching, reaching, walking, pushing, pulling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions. Sedentary work involving sitting much of the time. This job meets the minimum standards for use with those whose work deals largely with computer operations at distances close to the eyes. The incumbent to this job must have the ability to work under conditions requiring considerable attention to detail. The individual is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions. Must be willing to live and work in an area designated by the U.S. Government as an imminent danger zone or hostile fire zone.
